Plans for a new 47-space car park in Lincoln have been unanimously approved.

Members of the City of Lincoln Council last noted voted in favour of the development.

The decision will now see a car park open in the former coal yard, north of Tentercroft Street and west of Canwick Road.

It will run for three years to help mitigate the loss of parking during construction of the £30m transport hub.

Work has begun to create a new bus station and 1,000-space multi-storey car park and a temporary bus station is operating from the Tentercroft Street car park.

The existing bus station closed at the end of August and 800 car parking spaces are temporarily lost for the 18-month duration of the transport hub project.

The new car park will operate as a public pay and display car park.
