Traffic Labour Supplies | The Team Grows With New Ops Manager

Article Posted on: November 21, 2017

Traffic Labour Supplies (TLS) have added significant expertise and experience to their team with the addition of Ian Teather. Already a leading light of Traffic Management Labour Supply in the UK, TLS feels that adding Ian to their team keeps them ahead of the game given his extensive background and experience within the industry.

Ian joins TLS as the Manager of Operations to support and assist the growth of TLS’ labour services throughout the UK. With excellent client relationships and candidate contacts, TLS are proud to welcome him to the team.

We spoke to Ian about his route to TLS, he told us:

“I started my time in traffic management back in 2001 with HW Martin (Blackwell) as a general operative, moving through the ranks to foreman within two years. After the arrival of my first child in 2005, I took the plunge and left HW Martin to become shift supervisor at Alfred McAlpine Traffic Management, which later became Carillion Traffic Management, on the MAC 7 contract with AMScott.

“It was there where I was given the responsibility of organising the shift rota for the workforce, supervising traffic management crews and liaising with clients on a daily basis. In 2009, I joined Colas Traffic Management, re-joining many of my old colleagues from my days at Alfred McAlpine and Carillion and, in the spring of 2010, I was given the opportunity to supervise and manage Colas teams involved on the Derbyshire County Council surface dressing contract.

“This led to me being given the opportunity to step up to the role as work supervisor/representative for Colas Traffic Management in the A-one+ Area 7 head office and more recently, their head office in Area 4.

“The chance to move to TLS came up towards the end of last month and I saw it as an opportunity too good to miss! I am looking forward to the challenge of working with the TLS team and continuing the company success in 2018 and the years to come”.

Ian’s passion and enthusiasm for his new role is shared by TLS Director Steve Bennett who commented:

“We can’t wait to see how Ian will use his experience and knowledge to sharpen our operations team and further increase the standard of service we deliver to the client.”
