£300m Highways England framework winners announced
Amey, Arup and Costain are among the winners on a £300m Highways England professional framework.
The Specialist Professional and Technical Services (SPaTS2) framework will provide specialist technical engineering and procurement advice to the roads body for its £27bn Road Investment Strategy (RIS2).
- Suppliers on the first lot covering technical services are: Amey; an Atkins/Jacobs JV; Arup; Costain; Futran JV (Arcadis/Pell Frischmann Consulting/TRL); and WSP.
- Winners on lot two, which covers procurement advice, are: Arup; Arcadis, Jacobs; PricewaterhouseCoopers; Rowsell Wright; and Turner & Townsend.
A Highways England spokesperson said: “This framework will provide us with the specialist services we need to help us deliver a £27.4bn investment in the strategic road network during road period two (2020-2025). It will help to ensure safer, smoother and more reliable journeys to the four million users that rely on our roads each day.”
RIS2 is currently the subject of a legal challenge by the Transport Action Network over claims it would breach climate change and air-quality laws. The organisation is using the legal team that successfully challenged the Heathrow Airport expansion.
Highways England is also set to launch a tender process for a new commercial and project management services framework relating to RIS2 in the coming weeks.
