Hill & Smith are once again leading the charge for the UK export scene. Over the last 15 years they have supported Saudi Arabia’s infrastructure aspirations with a continuous supply of their innovative barrier systems, becoming a global success story for UK export along the way.
The latest solution supplied from Hill & Smith is an astonishing 160km of tensioned wire rope crash barrier system for a new infrastructure road network. Having worked closely with local representation and the biggest engineering companies in the region, Hill & Smith have secured an enormous delivery of their Brifen tested vehicle restraint system to the Southern Border Project.
Work has begun on reinforcing and upgrading the security infrastructure on the country’s southern border with Yemen, and along with this is a new network of supply roads has been developed.
So how is this being delivered?
Huge demand has been placed on Hill & Smith with just a 12 week window being open to deliver this project. The UK manufacturer has had to maintain the highest standards of manufacture to ensure that this huge migration of products does not affect the delivery of UK and other global schemes already in production.
A whopping 63 containers with thousands of tonnes of steel are being shipped out to Saudi for this project which will be the biggest singular contract award in Brifen’s history to date.

Not only are Hill & Smith delivering 160km of product to Saudi, they are also running an ongoing training programme to support the infrastructure team with technical guidance, installation, maintenance and repairs.
