Airstar Lighting have recently branched out even further into the highways industry as a result of a link up with maintenance operator Applewood. Already a huge name in the world of film, Airstar continue to diversify by conquering the night road maintenance lighting sector.
Working on behalf of Aone+, Applewood are illuminating their sites with the Airstar signature Sirocco balloon LED lighting range.

The three, 2m, 600w balloon lights are a brand new fixture to the Applewood task vehicle- arming operatives with the tools to illuminate the highways as they go about their nightly works.
Providing 360-degree lighting, the Sirocco’s provide a safer working environment, as well as providing the more eco-friendly benefit of LED light.
Since using the Airstar LED Balloons, Applewood specialists have carried out many time and motion studies on behalf of its clients and found that production of night time activities has increased by up to 57%. Accidents and near misses have taken a sharp drop and the workforce are far happier working within these vastly improved conditions. It is win win win for any proactive, safety and commercially driven business.

As pioneers within the Highways on-site safety field, Applewood have carried out extensive surveys throughout members of the travelling public and haulage organisations. Reports are that motorists can navigate often intimidating traffic management layouts with increased confidence when LED balloons are deployed and glare and blindness are a nonexistent problem in comparison with other forms of lighting.
Complaints received from dazzled members of the public have reduced by some 50% thus enhancing positive public perception of the industry, a must for any considerate contractor.
Currently being deployed in Northamptonshire, Applewood are finding the Sirocco a significant upgrade on their previous lighting solution.
