BT-HS | IPV Safety

Thoughtful vehicle design based around safety, quality and operational capability. Perfection, right?
That’s exactly what BT-HS delivers with its Impact Protection Vehicles (IPV’s). By its very nature, the IPV is a vehicle designed for protection, and the provision of safety for the workforce at their most exposed during the installation of works.
“The quality of the build is something we are very pleased with…”
Scott Mcdonald, Intertoll
Listening & Adapting
Innovation at BT-HS is often born from two-way communication and honest, open discussion with its client base. Taking feedback from operatives and operators of the vehicles gives great insight into what is required from these vehicles on a day-to-day basis, and BTHS prides itself on its ability to listen, innovate, and adapt.
“We took the decision to start illuminating our sign storage.” MD Phil Glaiser told us.
“This was based on feedback received from operatives of one of our clients when they were asked for suggestions about any further aids when on the job.
“Likewise, we dual illuminate our cone wells with LED lighting. This ensures that the person operating within the cone well has a constant form of lighting, depending on where they are standing within the cone well.
“This was another adaptation made in response to customer feedback to add a further safety benefit for their operatives.”
FORS
BT-HS is unique in the fact that it is the only IPV hire company providing these vehicles with FORS Silver Hire accreditation – an undoubted mark of quality for the company and indeed, the fleet.
Phil told us:
“Whilst we’re extremely confident in saying we’re ‘not just’ an IPV hire company, the FORS accreditation really rubber stamps that.”
Service, Service, Service
Whether you are purchasing or renting a vehicle from BTHS, the company is completely committed to ensuring that if anything unforeseen should occur, that their service team will make sure they’re there to support you.
Phil continued:
“We are realistic in our approach and in our service back up to our customers. Great partnerships are created through honesty and communication, if we can sort it out, we sort it out fast. If for whatever reason we cannot, we tell you straight away, with a realistic timeframe.”
Dan Howard from Tarmac told us:
“The IPV’s from BTHS aesthetically really fit our company profile. The guys really enjoy working on them, the vehicles are well thought out and that reflects with the feedback we get from the depot operatives.”
Scott Mcdonald of Intertoll added:
“We are really happy with the IPV’s we bought from BT-HS. We use them on our high-profile contract in Northern Ireland and our lads have given us great feedback on them.
“They are very well thought out in their design and the quality of the build is something we are very pleased with. They have been a great asset investment.”
2021: Innovations underway
2021 will see further innovation amongst the BTHS IPV fleet, with the first major evolution coming in the control system of the vehicle.
Phil explains:
“We have a completley new wiring, control system and diagnostic control scheme going into all of the IPV’s we produce.
“This is going to be a very exciting move forward from the current controllers and will provide a more robust and user-friendly operator interface going forward.“
