BT-HS | The 3.5 tonne vehicle that’s delivered fully fit for purpose

When you buy a new car, you don’t expect to have to fit the seatbelts or the brake lights yourself, do you? Of course not.
So, when it comes to traffic management vehicles, why would you expect any different? BT-HS delivers a 3.5 tonne vehicle ready for TM duty on day one – so its straight to work, and value added.
“We often hear from customers when they have ordered 3.5t vehicles for either hire or purchase that they have had to retrospectively fit them to ensure they are fully compliant for traffic management operations. We just don’t believe that’s the way it should be.” said BT-HS Managing Director Phi Glaiser.
“On all of our tail lift vehicles, we supply them with automatic deployment fall arrest gates, which compliment the working at height fall arrest bars and rails on the main body. Also, with all our vehicles we clearly colour code the dedicated load lashing points and the three points of access points.” Phil added.
In a nutshell, when you receive your vehicle from BT-HS, full Chapter 8 compliance is the MINIMUM you can expect as, put to us by Phil “Fully compliant to Chapter 8 specifications is effectively our lowest standard of specification.”
Experience driving design and quality
BT-HS is in a position when it comes to design and build, in that there is over 20 years of commercial driving experience in-house. So, it’s seasoned campaigners who oversee the process from blueprint, to prototype, to production.
“Often, vehicle suppliers themselves haven’t commercially driven their vehicles, let alone operate them for their intended purpose.” Phil continued.
“We take particular care when we design and build our vehicles to ensure that they are the safest and most practical vehicle, using that operational experience as a constant feedback and R&D opportunity to get the safest, highest quality product out on the road.”
Jonathan Hawksworth, Managing Director of ClearView told us:
“The build quality of the vehicles is second to none, which is why we have purchased multiple of them. We’ve been nothing but impressed, as has our workforce.”
Adding value again
In addition to the highest quality and safety features, as well as a vehicle that requires no extra modifications pre-job, BT-HS also offers a volume-based saving on the chassis price of vehicles they provide for sale.
Due to the relationships held with their chassis manufacturers, BT-HS is able to pass on a favourable price point to their client, without sacrificing any quality of build.
“We look to pass savings on to our customers.” Phil added.
“We want to create that additional value for our clients wherever possible – and due to the relationships we have, we’re able to do so. It’s something we’re really proud of.”
Currently, the BT-HS 3.5 tonne vehicles serve clients such as ETMS, Markon, Headway, ClearView and Shift TM to name just a handful.
Martin Metcalfe of ETMS commented:
“The vehicles are fantastic but it’s the service we receive from BT-HS that really stands them out as the supplier we want to work with.”
Ty Rawbone, Director of Amber RTM added:
“The vehicles are perfect for purpose and we’ve been particularly happy with the quality of the build. The dual fall arrest system arriving already fitted to the vehicle when it arrives is a huge benefit for us.”
