CCRS | In-house Vehicle Management System is a game changer

At Crash Cushion Rental Solutions (CCRS) in addition to their industry pioneering multi camera recording, free vehicle tracking, FORS registered and BVRLA accredited rentals they have been working hard on in house and customer facing technology. With exceptional research and development CCRS have produced a unique Vehicle Management System (VMS) which is set to be yet another industry changing concept to come from the company.
With the focus on instant service and quality of product, the VMS from CCRS allows all their customers to access information relating to the vehicles they hire at the touch of a button. Periodic Maintenance Inspections (PMI), Vehicles Special Order (VSO), Tachograph calibration certification, MOT certification, damage/repair information, Hire certificates and cushion service certificates are all available to view, asses and download instantaneously.

CCRS allow their customers to be given a unique user login to the system. Phil Glaiser, CCRS Fleet Manager explains:
“When the user logs in they are greeted with a complete list of vehicles on hire. This can then be separated into either their depot, region and or national/companywide dependant on access required. The system provides a fleet overall view with Icons showing the status of all relevant events. PMI bookings due, completed and or confirmed, reported damage and or defects, CCRS internal fleet inspections, Cushion Safety Inspections and so on allowing operators to get a complete understanding of their rental fleet and its current status”
“All of these can also be seen along with in depth reports and pictures when the user simply clicks onto the vehicle or icon in question. When either the vehicle registration or icon is clicked the user is greeted by a more in depth information screen showing everything relevant to that registration”

Phil continues “Internally we have been running the system since day one, some select customers have been kind enough to beta test the system and using their feedback and requests we have produced a system which provides complete transparency. During our research and development process one reoccurring comment from hirers was that where CCRS is concerned, with the new VMS system there is no need to constantly ask for information to be sent over.
Additionally, they could not see the history of their vehicles, therefore not knowing or understanding the service condition of the vehicle and or if it has had any reoccurring issues”
The system is proving to be a great aid to CCRS and their customers. Amanda Henry, Regional Plant & Transport Manager for Colas Traffic Management has stated:
“We have found the vehicle management system to be a great asset to our business enabling instant access to vehicle records”

While Mark Fleckner, Director of Chevron Traffic Management also commented:
“The CCRS vehicle management system enables us to directly access live hire vehicle records at the touch of a button. This assists Chevron in maintaining consistently high vehicle safety standards and compliance”
Phil explains further “It’s always flattering when others follow our innovations, along with the customer feedback we receive it shows we are doing things right. We can see that we are pushing innovations in the right direction, when a number of clients in the industry approach us asking us to licence our products to them.
“We have our own in house development team and we are today looking into developing the system further, introducing additional modules as and when requested giving our end user more flexibility and the potential to use the system to manage their own fleet, rentals and internal/external driver management, giving the prospect of one click tracking through to one click live CCTV viewing. Without giving to much away our current release of the system was a leap, we are yet to present the bounds and the potential the system provides”.
