Chellan – Looking back on 2025: A Year of Expansion, Innovation and Impact

This year has seen Chellan build on its decade-long commitment to highways safety and CCTV monitoring – and 2025 may well represent one of the most transformational periods in its history.
Having been established in 2015, Chellan has steadily grown to become the UK’s only company dedicated solely to remote temporary traffic management (TTM) CCTV monitoring across rural, urban and high-speed roads.
Their Doncaster hub continues to serve as the nerve centre for nationwide operations.
From there, Chellan remotely monitors CCTV systems across schemes throughout the country, working closely with major contractors, traffic management teams, and emergency services.
Expanding capacity with new camera room at HQ
In 2025, Chellan significantly upgraded its operational infrastructure by expanding the monitoring hub with a new camera room at headquarters.
The upgrade increases Chellan’s capacity and broadens the scope of monitoring, enabling the company to take on more projects concurrently and deliver wider coverage. This investment strengthens Chellan’s position as a leading partner for highway safety and traffic monitoring.
Extending reach – smarter monitoring for city traffic
Recognising that urban environments bring unique challenges – where vehicles and pedestrians share tight, shifting spaces – Chellan has extended its expertise into urban settings.
The company now offers a comprehensive urban-road monitoring service, combining technology and trained operators to provide:
- Smart route mapping to identify potential conflict zones.
- Real-time traffic and pedestrian flow data to support client decision-making.
- Instant alerts for incursions, stopped vehicles, breakdowns or emergencies.
- ANPR and enforcement support to improve compliance and enhance safety.
A standout success in 2025 came via a central London urban traffic management scheme, where pedestrian incursions dropped from 104 per day to just 4 under Chellan’s monitoring approach. This reduction demonstrated the value of targeted surveillance, smarter deployment, and proactive operator support.
Deep-rooted quality, compliance and workforce development
Throughout 2025, Chellan continued to emphasise quality and compliance. The company maintains credentials including ISO 9001:2015, Constructionline and Achilles Gold accreditations, as well as membership of the Prompt Payment Code and the Supply Chain Sustainability School.
Equally important has been Chellan’s internal training infrastructure. A dedicated, accredited TTM CCTV training course ensures that all operators are certified to deliver high-standard monitoring for major schemes, offering assurance that monitoring is conducted by skilled, vetted professionals.
A year of growth and future investment
2025 has seen Chellan grow in scale and capability, while also earning wider recognition for its role in industry collaboration and delivery.
Managing Director Wayne Nelthorpe reflected on the year:
“2025 has been a year of meaningful growth for Chellan. We have pushed ourselves, expanded our capability and continued to deliver the dependable service our clients expect. I am incredibly proud of the team and the way they have embraced every challenge. We are already excited for what 2026 looks like and are preparing for another year of progress.”
As the company enters 2026, it does so with strengthened capacity, broadened service scope, and a momentum rooted in safety, reliability and innovation – ready to meet the evolving challenges of road networks across the UK.
