Deadline for Highways UK’s innovation competitions approaching fast
A quick reminder that the deadline for entries to Highways UK’s two innovation competitions is 31 July.
Both organised in collaboration with their Innovation Partner, Innovate UK, the Intelligent Infrastructure Challenge, sponsored by Costain, is for intelligent infrastructure products or systems, that is loosely anything that uses data.
The Civils and Materials Innovation Hub, sponsored by AECOM, focuses on innovative solutions used in the construction and maintenance of highways including physical products, components, systems, processes and materials.
Using a computing analogy, think of the Intelligent Infrastructure Challenge to be about software and the Civils and Materials Innovation Hub to be the hardware.
They are particularly looking for innovations that have the potential to be trialled on a UK road within the next 6-18 months.
