Drivers advised to plan ahead for upcoming M27 closures
Road users have been told to plan ahead as works are due to start on the M27.
Deep reconstruction works are due to take place between junction 9 and 11 of the M27 in the coming weekends.
From 9pm on September 24 to 6am on September 27. the westbound carriageway will be closed between junction 11 for Gosport and junction 9 for Whiteley.
The eastbound carriageway will then be closed between junctions 9 and 11 from 9pm on October 1 to 6am on October 4.
Signed diversions will be in place throughout the work and drivers heading westbound should leave the M27 at junction 11, onto the westbound A27.
They can then rejoin the motorway at junction 9.
Traffic travelling eastbound should leave the M27 at junction 9 and take the third exit at the roundabout onto the A27 towards Fareham.
Drivers should continue on the eastbound A27 and re-join the M27 at junction 11.
A National Highways spokesperson said: “Congestion is expected, so drivers are advised to plan ahead and leave extra time for their journeys. All diversions will be fully signed, and closures are subject to change depending on operational requirements or adverse weather conditions.
