Executive Director at Highways England Malcom Dare addresses Supply Chain
Highways England Supply Chain EDI champion Malcom Dare gave the following address to Highways England’s Supply Chain today, 28th Jan 2021, accompanied by an email outlining how companies can become a part of pushing forward its equality, diversity and inclusion agenda:
“The last 12 months have demonstrated how important equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) are to the success of our businesses and our supply chains but that there is still a lot more to be done. In my role as Highways England Supply Chain EDI champion I am accountable for the Supplier Diversity Forum (SDF) which was formed in 2007. Over the past 13 years the forum has shared good practice, informed our supply chain inclusion work and delivered initiatives that have contributed to change across the sector. More recently the SDF has been integrated into the Collaboration Board and forms one of the 4 working groups.
In 2019 we revised the membership of the SDF and are now seeking further members to join. The SDF is a diverse group of both EDI specialists and operational leaders and we are particularly seeking individuals with expertise and leadership in relation to:
- race equality and antiracism work
- organisational change
- programme management
- operational delivery
The purpose of my address is to find companies who would like to take part in driving forward the EDI agenda.
We work in an industry with very significant opportunities and very significant government funding.
We can deliver a step change in the EDI arena for the benefit of our customers, the industry and our own organisations. I hope that your company would like to play a leading role in taking the EDI agenda forward.”
Nominations should be submitted to [email protected] close of play by 5th February 2021.
