GTM | Approach to High-Speed and High-Speed TM Manager Appointment

Go Traffic Management are specialists in high-speed solutions, demonstrated in a recent project for Murphy Group. They’ve invested millions in the latest plant and equipment, including a fleet of IPV’s.
At the request of the client Murphy Group, Go Traffic Management undertook the high-speed lane closures on the Rainford Bypass. The closures were required to enable Murphy Group to carry out necessary rail infrastructure rehabilitation and repairs. The works were part of the Great North Rail Project, addressing repairs to the railway bridge spanning the Rainford Bypass (A570) in St Helens, Merseyside.
The closure of high-speed traffic lanes was particularly challenging due to the planning and timing restraints. The client needed to adhere to a broader programme plan than was agreed with the Great North Rail Project.
Further challenges included workforce safety, ensuring relevant traffic management solutions were put in place to protect Murphy workforce whilst undertaking railway bridge repairs. A key aim for Go Traffic Management was to maintain traffic flow. The demand of the A570 as a commuter route is high, overcoming this challenge was vital to the success of the project.
The challenges required innovative traffic management solutions by Go Traffic Management. However, due to previous experience GTM implemented early contractor involvement at the planning stage. The measure ensured prompt delivery of surveys to determine the optimum solution.
Creating and maintaining excellent relationships with local councils, sharing traffic management designs and keeping lines of communications open proved to be important in aiding the delivery of the high-speed project.
What sets Go Traffic Management apart?
Simply put, responding to challenges innovatively.
Maintaining traffic flow safely was crucial to the success of the Rainford Bypass Project. Using smart solutions such as temporary vertical concrete barriers and impact protection vehicles minimised delays. Ensured the safety of the client work force and effective deployment of solutions to allow safe access to the working area.
GTM proposed a clear and more precise route for closure, reducing motorist travel time and emissions.
