Highway Care | BG800 succeeds at Bournemouth Wheels Festival

Back in May, Highway Care announced BG800 will return to protect spectators at the Bournemouth Wheels Festival. We decided it would also be a perfect place to record a time lapse of the installation.

BG800 is lightweight, versatile and quick to deploy; making it the perfect portable steel barrier to provide positive protection for events as well as road workers.

The system has been designed with safety and speed of installation in mind. Each section of steel barrier is 12m long and features the patented ‘QuickMount’ boltless connections at each end, allowing installation of up to 300m of barrier per hour. This rapid and precise inbuilt method of connection ensures that installation times are kept to an absolute minimum, reducing cost, disruption to the public and risk to the installation teams. Combined with delivery of up to 216m per load; BG800 provides a competitive installation cost.

BG800 can be used for curved applications on a very tight radii using specifically designed sections and plates. The barrier’s flexibility has been enhanced by the addition of 6m barrier units and 2.5° and 5° angled sections. All of these units feature the unique ‘QuickMount’ joints and BG800 profile to ensure that the performance of the barrier is maintained.
