Highways UK | Big Thinking at Highways UK 2018
Highways UK, the flagship event for the people and organisations involved in planning, designing, building, operating and future-proofing of the UK’s road network, is just over six weeks away.
Running at the NEC, Birmingham on 7/8 November, the free event comprises a multi-stream conference and major exhibition. With more than 250 speakers and over 140 exhibitors, Highways UK brings together all of the sector’s movers and shakers. If you only attend one highways sector event this year, make sure it’s Highways UK.
The Big Thinking stream offers insight and thought-leadership from sector’s key influencers. It is all about how government strategy and high-level policy translates into business opportunity and how the electric, connected, shared mobility revolution is already impacting on the design, construction and maintenance of all the country’s roads.
It’s an opportunity to hear from the heads of the country’s leading tier 1 contractors and consultants, alongside Tricia Hayes, Roads Director General at the Department for Transport; Jim O’Sullivan, Chief Executive of Highways England; Sir John Armitt, Chair of the National Infrastructure Commission; Rachel Skinner, Vice-President at the Institution of Civil Engineers; Matthew Lugg, President of Chartered Institution for Highways and Transportation; and Martin Tett, Chair of the Local Government Association’s Environment, Economy, Housing and Transport Board.
