HTM | Managing Director takes top senior leader award at Mind’s Workplace Wellbeing Awards
Highway Traffic Management Managing Director Greg Baldwin has been recognised at an awards ceremony for a commitment to workplace wellbeing as a Senior Leader, as the business levels up its performance in mental health support.
Greg was one of 5 senior leaders shortlisted from over 300 nominees recognised in the ‘Senior Leader Award’ at Mind’s fifth annual Workplace Wellbeing Index awards and was unveiled as the winner in the category via video at a virtual ceremony.
The individual award is another display of commitment to tackling mental health issues in the workplace at HTM, following the company’s achievement at the Highways Awards as winner in the category for Mental Health and Wellbeing in the Highways Sector earlier this year.
In 2017, Greg and HTM pioneered the Talk More campaign; a mental health initiative aimed at people within the traffic management sector who need support – in whatever guise that may emerge.
Mind Workplace Wellbeing Awards
Mind’s Workplace Wellbeing Index is a benchmark of best policy and practice, celebrating the good work employers are doing to promote and support positive mental health, and providing key recommendations on the specific areas where there is room to improve.
The online event, hosted by Mind’s Chief Executive Paul Farmer, took place on the 8 June and saw around 200 people from a wide range of organisations come together to celebrate the awards.
Every employer depends on having healthy and productive employees – valued and supported staff are far more likely to perform better and achieve peak performance. Mental health problems are common among employees. Mind surveyed more than 42,000 employees across the 114 employers participating in the Index and included an additional section on the impact of Covid-19.
Greg spoke with us about the award and commented:
“It really is a team award this one, and as MD of HTM I’m very proud to be both nominated, and subsequently win the award on behalf of the entire organisation.
“Our team have been fantastic in the way they have committed to the Talk More mental health campaign, and I owe them a great deal of gratitude for the emphasis placed on mental health in our workplace.
“We will now continue to strive both as a business and with the Talk More campaign to end the stigma surrounding mental health, as well as provide support and help for those suffering with mental health issues both in, and outside of our own workplace.”
