ICEE | Providing Your Complete Solution

Want a green and utterly reliable solar-powered standalone electricity generator that also works in total darkness?
Launched at the recent Road Expo exhibition in Scotland by ICEE a leading manufacturer of bespoke equipment enclosures for the telecommunications and road traffic control industries the companys innovative product integrates an advanced hydrogen fuel cell with a photovoltaic (PV) solar panel.
For applications requiring total reliability combining a PV panel with a hydrogen fuel cell means ICEEs quiet and non-polluting DC electricity generator will provide uninterrupted power even when there is little sunshine and produces energy during the night.
This consistent supply of electricity is available around the clock for long periods in any external location and in any weather conditions and requires only occasional fuel cell gas tank replacement. Besides a PV panel the generator may be fitted with a wind turbine which provides even greater flexibility sustainability and endurance.
The hybrid generator is perfect for remote country sites or islands where there is no National Grid presence and where service visits must be minimised to save costs or in locations such as urban streets where there is a mains supply but it may be too costly or impractical to make a connection. Now it will be possible to solve power supply problems that before were too expensive to overcome. Additionally it will open up new opportunities for novel applications says ICEEs Key Account Manager Shane Thomas.
Examples include powering environmental sampling and monitoring equipment in remote areas; quickly setting up temporary or emergency (or permanent) roadside lighting or illuminated digital signage; installing CCTV security surveillance anywhere required from streets and highways to civil engineering construction sites; plus many other off-Grid uses.
ICEEs hybrid generator incorporates BOCs well-proven Hymera portable hydrogen fuel cell and runs on readily available industrial hydrogen gas supplied in standard steel cylinders or BOCs new GENIE lightweight container. When filled to 300 bar the latter is capable of generating up to 7000 Wh of electrical energy delivering battery-like power but at ten times the energy density of a lead-acid battery. This is enough to support a high specification security camera for up to two weeks or a 5W intruder alarm system for over a month.
Standard or bespoke simple or complicated
.
But thats not all from ICEE. Where a customer wants a bespoke or one-off hybrid generator solution the company will design and make what is required. In cases where the customer wants to incorporate the generator into their own design configuration the company will licence and supply a kit of components or a basic assembly for that purpose.
As a design and manufacturing company we offer flexibility capability and choice and a great deal of experience. We can provide any solution the customer wants claims Thomas. At one extreme ICEE designs and manufactures bespoke street furniture. At the other – its core business it designs makes installs and maintains large and small equipment enclosures for the telecommunications road traffic control and related industries. The company also supplies data networks CCTV and control systems.
In short ICEE Managed Services is equipped to produce everything from a simple sheet metal waste bin to a highly complicated telecommunication and road traffic control system cabinet: the common link being both products are installed on the street and may be bespoke or standardised.
