Continuous Improvement Engineer – Glasgow
Blueprint Recruitment Ltd is currently working with one of the leading operating companies for the management and maintenance of roads and bridges in Scotland. Due to the acquisition of a new contract they have the requirement to add a Continuous Improvement Engineer to their team on a permanent contract.
ROLE PURPOSE
- Deliver continuous improvement opportunities
- Maintain the Integrated Management System
- Deliver the internal audit programme
- Produce effective management information and reporting
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities and facilitate teams to improve business efficiency by applying ‘Lean’ methodologies and Defect Free Delivery.
- Administer the Integrated Management System ensuring content is accurate, authorised and aligned to the parent company BB BMS and contractual requirements.
- Deliver audits and produce audit reports in accordance with the internal audit schedule
- Administer the document control process ensuring the traceability of contract records
- Ensure Integrated Management System registers are up-to-date and accurate including: NCR, Equipment Calibration / Test and Record Registers
- Raise NCR’s as a consequence of audit findings or other non-conformances and facilitate their timely closure
- Collate business statistics and contractual reporting requirements in compliance with agreed schedules
- As the above list of duties is illustrative and not exhaustive, the post holder will be required to undertake other duties commensurate with the role as directed by the MSM
PERSONAL QUALITIES AND EXPERIENCE
The following qualities/experience are essential:
- Degree level qualification preferably with a statistical component
- Advanced ICT skills, highly proficient in MS Office applications
- Quality auditing experience including ISO9001:2015
- Ability to manage workload methodically
The following qualities/experience are desirable:
- Experienced in the application of Lean continuous improvement
- methodologies and quality tools and techniques
- Experience of Integrated Management Systems ( certified to ISO9001,
- 14001, OHSAS18001 including sector specific standards- National
- Highways Sector Schemes (NHSS)
- Qualified or working towards IRCA Internal Auditor (ISO9001:2015)
- Working towards CQI membership- Practitioner Level.
- Experience in road maintenance or civil engineering
