Kelly Bros | New Mobile Survey Unit

Kelly Bros have added a new mobile survey unit to their arsenal of capabilities, meaning they can now check everything from road markings, road studs and countless assets for reflectivity, condition and performance.

The survey van is fitted with a retro-reflectometer, Trimble MX7 mobile mapping imaging system and a specialised night time multi-image camera.
These surveys are carried out at highway speeds, alleviating the need for traffic management on a stretch of highway whilst surveys and inspections are carried out.
Mobile 360° imaging captures 30-megapixel geo-referenced images, these can include:
• Highway mapping
• Urban mapping
• Feature extraction
• Junction marking condition
• Road marking wear condition
• Pre-condition / post-condition works
• Asset management
• Time-stamped legal proof of environmental conditions
• Upload imagery into CAD system to inspect works drawings

Additionally, Kelly Bros has now developed an online portal to host all of their survey results. All survey data can now be kept and viewed on a single portal and accessed by multiple users who can be assigned with different levels of access.

Assets such as bridges, lighting columns, chainage markers, potholes, road markings, road studs and street furniture can all be plotted and geo-referenced. Results can then be filtered quickly to be able to assign tasks to maintenance teams. Regular tasks can be stored and re-assigned as needed for quicker and more efficient processes.

Data can be downloaded as PDF, SHP, KMZ and/or excel files so site surveys can be carried out at your desktop.
