MAC PLANE | WATCH: Is this the industry’s biggest surfacing secret?

When it comes to secrets, ordinarily, they are something not meant to be known by others. In the case of MAC Plane – MAC Surfacing’s planing division, this could not be further from their objective. For this is not a secret MAC are wanting to keep, but one that mysteriously appears to have emerged
MAC Plane has been operating within MAC Surfacing for a decade- that’s 10 years of experience and expertise.
About MAC Plane – The benefits
Operating and growing as MAC Surfacing itself has continued to expand, MAC Plane, according to company Managing Director Marc Copson is a division that often goes under the radar to the outside world. In fact, it isn’t uncommon for MAC Surfacing clients to be surprised when they discover the company houses its very own planing division!
Additionally, since its inception in 2010, MAC Plane has developed into a 15-planer fleet, from 0.35m right through to 2m machines which can be supplied with milling widths ranging from 350mm to 2000mm and depths ranging 110mm to 320mm.

MAC PLANE at work
Unlike many planing contractors, MAC Plane comes with the expertise and support system of MAC Surfacing. MD Marc Copson explained:
“We can provide the complete surfacing solution and give clients a ‘one phone call’ opportunity when it comes to carrying out works.
“MAC removes the need for multiple sub-contractors on site, eradicates any question marks over hierarchy or accountability for works undertaken.

“Additionally for our clients, using MAC Plane in accordance with our other surfacing solutions means we can collaborate more effectively with the contractor, and therefore communications are less prone to error or misinterpretation – and we also provide a reduction in paperwork by giving the client the opportunity to utilise one contractor for their works. One contractor, one protocol, one invoice.
“Essentially, we are partnering with the client by being their one call.”
So, why is MAC Plane not more known?
We asked Marc, with so many benefits, how are many so unaware of what they could be getting?
“I think because we are so well known for plant hire and labour supply, sometimes it’s just the case that you get generally known for certain things – and people don’t investigate further.
“I think perhaps once companies have suppliers for various aspects of their business and those companies don’t do bad jobs, the client doesn’t look around to see what additional benefits they could also receive elsewhere.
“Additionally, because we are MAC Surfacing, the ‘surfacing’ perhaps confuses some as to what we provide and simply don’t realise the extent of our skillset. We therefore need to make sure the industry knows that MAC Plane is here, thriving and looking to take it’s services even further into the industry.”
It’s probably fair to say that the secret is getting out and being spread.
