The Multihog and British Gas team of employees passed over the finish line to secure sponsorship for Multihog Director Nick Leadleys four-year old godson Sam Shaw who desperately needs funds in order to complete treatment in the US which isnt available on the NHS.
The charity bike challenge contested over a gruelling three-day period which entailed cycling the entire 127 miles of the Leeds-Liverpool Canal intensified further by the fact that none of the group are cycling or fitness enthusiasts!
Despite this the sweltering heat and a few hiccups along the way including a few falls swollen knees and one broken bicycle pedal the boys proved that they were as robust and resilient as the Multihog itself when they all successfully crossed the finish line on Sunday.
Nicks Godson Sam has stage 4 Neuroblastoma a rare and aggressive form of cancer that affects children mostly under the age of 5 years old. Only around 100 children are diagnosed with Neuroblastoma each year in the UK and on average the long term survival rate for Sam would be less than 40% without the treatment needed.
Already we have seen an entire community pull together in order to help raise the £250000 required to send Sam to America to increase his chances for beating this for good by up to 20%. Multihog and British Gas are just one of the many different events which have been inspired in aid of Sam for example previously over one thousand people attended a charity football match in support of Sam and this Thursday (6th June) will see a special charity dinner take place at Ewood Park home of Blackburn Rovers which Multihog will also be attending (Tickets for this event are still available for groups of all sizes including couples and singles).
Finally everyone at Multihog would like to thank all those who have shown support for Sam and the lads in taking on this charitable challenge your support has really humbled us all and we consider many of you friends as well as business associates.
