Overnight repairs planned on A14 following heat-related delay

Repair work is due to take place tonight on the A14 after earlier works were postponed because of “extreme heat”.
National Highways confirmed that repairs will begin on the eastbound carriageway between junctions 57 and 58.
A lane closure has remained in place since 11pm on Monday, 25 May, following the discovery of a defect in the road surface.
A spokesperson for National Highways said: “The works will be fully completed overnight tonight.”
The closure has coincided with the opening day of the Suffolk Show at Trinity Park, contributing to heavy traffic in the area.
According to National Highways, motorists have faced delays of up to 45 minutes, with congestion stretching for around four miles.
