Paragon TM | Taking strides in Mobile Telecoms TM thanks to digital transformation
Paragon Traffic Management identified the Mobile Telecoms Industry as a major target industry to deliver its services to, with these services including, but not limited to Temporary Traffic and Pedestrian Management, Permit Services, and other associated bolt on services.
One of the challenges of diversifying into the mobile telecoms market is its diversity, with each site location so different, meaning there is no one fit solution for Traffic or Pedestrian Management.
Each site will have several different activities/plant/numbers of operatives required to work on it and different local authorities also work in different ways – just to add more changing variable.
“We needed to develop our business to meet and exceed the standards for the industry, keeping up with moving legislation and make ourselves known within the industry for all the right reasons.” Said Job title Tim Wrigglesworth
“We aim to become the ‘go to’ company for all things Traffic and Pedestrian Management related.
“As we started to dip our toe into the mobile telecoms market, it became obvious we had to become more digital in our operations to keep up with and move with the times.”
Create an online CRM system to streamline processes, collect information, and connect Paragon to its clients and operatives to manage all areas of the jobs from enquiry to invoice.
“There are a number of steps we’ve taken to build our CRM…” continued Tim.
“We engaged with a software specialist to develop and build our bespoke system, tailored to the mobile Telecom market. The system prompts for all the required information at enquiry stage to ensure we fully know all the client requirements before coming up with a solution.
“Council contacts are made and recorded, along with details of costs and lead in times, these are checked at regular interval. A project coordinator is also allocated to each client or contact to build relationships and maintain communication.”
The Paragon TM CRM has three interfaces, Contractor/Operative/Client:
- Contractor Interface – log enquires, create quotes, create jobs and job packs, issue to operatives, create RAMS, general management of the operations and accounts on a day to day basis
- Operative Interface – view job information for upcoming jobs, record daily operations, update line manager of any changes
- Client interface: request sites, view progress on bookings, view confirmed jobs, download RAMS / quote / invoices
Internal training and feedback features are also built into the new system.
Tim told us:
“All our employees are undergoing an internal training program on how to use the system in line with our procedures, (see process map 1).
“We also have weekly meetings between our managers/project team representative/operative representative and IT department to discuss any issues, ideas to develop the system further. We also ask our clients who use the system to give us feedback on their findings to make it easier and better for them to use.”
External training for permits is also not left behind, with the Paragon team all undertaking training for permits, and are all qualified to Eton 6 plus Lantra 12d M7, for how we manage permits – as seen in process map 2.
The system is also perfectly set up to handle new enquiries, with each enquiry request recorded and allocated to a project coordinator, all details added to the CRM and then passed onto the survey team, once a solution is agreed a quote is then produced. Once a quote is agreed the job can become actioned, drawings and RAMS produced, and permits applied for – all from within the CRM.
The Paragon CRM carries a large library of RAMS which can be collated together, then add site specific details and drawing(s) so the site can be delivered safely and in line with current legislation and clients requirements. The CRM also gives flexibility to update the documents if circumstances change on site and immediately get new versions to both operative and client.
In line with its CRM and working procedures Paragon has also gained the following company accreditations:
- Achilles UVDB verified and audited
- Constructionline gold
- Acclaim Accredited
- NQA accredited for NHSS 12ab and d, plus certified for our Heath and Safety, and environmental Management of the company.
“We have become one of the leading providers to the mobile telecoms industry, working with many of the largest contractors successfully all over the UK.
“We have a number of established clients who trust us to deliver their projects, we do everything directly to cut down on unnecessary middleman or consultancy charges, our next step is to deliver our unique CRM offering to other clients in the market, where we can ensure everything is done correctly and the final product is on site to the highest standard possible.”
