Part of M4 closed this weekend as smart motorway project continues
The latest M4 closure is likely to cause traffic chaos on routes around Reading as drivers try to avoid the motorway.
A stretch of the M4 between junctions 11 for Reading and 10 for Wokingham and Bracknell will be closed in both directions this weekend as work continues on the smart motorway project.
All drivers will need to head along Lower Earley Way or through the centre of Reading to avoid the closure, which is likely to have a significant impact on traffic in the area throughout the weekend.
The closure will come into affect after 8pm on Friday, November 6, with the M4 reopening by 6am on Monday, November 9.
This is so highways workers can resurface the road.
The work is taking place as part of the M4 Smart Motorway project, which will see the M4 increased to four lanes.
The project costs an estimated £848 million and will be completed in 2022, according to Highways England.
