Public invited to share views on improving road safety across Doncaster

City of Doncaster Council (CDC) has launched a new public consultation aimed at improving road safety across the city, inviting feedback from motorists, cyclists, pedestrians and public transport users.
The survey gives participants the chance to comment on the condition and maintenance of local roads, as well as the quality of pavements, crossings and signage. It also asks respondents to share their views on enforcement measures, such as average speed cameras, and how safe they feel when travelling around Doncaster.
Anyone who regularly moves through the city – whether on foot, by bike, by car or using public transport – is encouraged to take part. The consultation is designed to build a clearer picture of public perceptions and identify where improvements are most needed on the highway network.
Glyn Jones, Deputy Mayor and Cabinet Member for Environment, Housing and Safer Communities at City of Doncaster Council, said:
“We are determined to do all that we can to make our highways as secure as they can possibly be and to minimise the number of serious injuries that occur on or around them.
“The insights gleaned from this new survey will be taken on board by the teams who are responsible for keeping Doncaster’s roads safe, helping us to identify what our top priorities for the coming years should be and informing the development our forthcoming Road Safety Strategy. It’s therefore vital that you spare just 10 minutes to make your voice heard.
“Every last response counts and we want to hear from motorists, cyclists, pedestrians, residents, commuters and visitors alike. So, please do take this opportunity to help us make Doncaster’s roads safer for everyone.”
The Road Safety Consultation is now open and will close on Sunday 1 February. Members of the public can take part by completing the online questionnaire.
Anyone who needs help filling in the survey, or who would prefer to complete it in person at the civic office, can call 01302 736000 for assistance.
