Roadway TM – Roadway TM recognised among York and North Yorkshire’s Top 100 Businesses

Roadway Traffic Management has been recognised as one of the York and North Yorkshire Top 100 Businesses for 2026, securing its position in a ranking celebrating some of the region’s most successful and influential organisations.

The recognition provides further evidence of the continued development of the Selby-based traffic management business, which has experienced sustained growth across its operations while continuing to invest in its people, infrastructure, technology and service offering.
The York and North Yorkshire Top 100 is compiled by York Business School in partnership with The Press, with businesses assessed against a number of key indicators including turnover, growth and employment.
Roadway’s inclusion comes as the company continues to build its presence both within Yorkshire and nationally.
Continued growth
Founded in 2014, Roadway TM has grown from its Selby base into a business operating across a much wider geographical footprint.
Alongside its North Yorkshire headquarters, the company now has operational bases in the Midlands and Henlow, Bedfordshire, providing increased coverage across the UK and strengthening its ability to support clients across a broad range of projects.
That growth has been accompanied by continued development across the wider business, with Roadway focused on building the people, systems, equipment and infrastructure required to support its expanding operations.
Investing behind the growth
Roadway’s development has been supported by significant investment across multiple areas of the business.
The company has continued to expand its vehicle fleet and equipment provision, while investing in technology designed to improve operational efficiency and workforce safety.
Its approach to digital traffic management has included the introduction of systems such as HRS Intellicone IPAWS, providing additional protection against vehicle incursions and giving site teams greater situational awareness.
Roadway has also continued to invest in training and workforce development, supported by its in-house Lantra Approved Training Centre.
Meanwhile, strategically positioned operational premises, including the company’s Midlands depot, have strengthened its ability to support clients and respond efficiently to projects across the country.
Remaining connected to Yorkshire
Despite its national expansion, Roadway continues to maintain strong links with the communities around its Selby headquarters.
The company has supported local schools through donations of traffic management equipment designed to help children learn about road safety, while also providing sponsorship to grassroots sporting organisations and community groups.
That commitment to social value sits alongside Roadway’s wider commercial activity and reflects the company’s belief that growth should bring benefits beyond the business itself.
Recognition of a wider team effort
For Roadway, inclusion in the Top 100 is recognition of the people and investment behind its development.
The company’s workforce has continued to develop alongside its geographical footprint, with operational teams supporting projects across a broad range of environments – from local authority schemes and urban works through to complex high-speed traffic management operations.
The recognition also comes at an important point in Roadway’s development, with the business continuing to strengthen its leadership structure, expand its regional presence and pursue further opportunities across the UK.
Being named among the York and North Yorkshire Top 100 Businesses provides an external recognition of that progress and places Roadway alongside organisations helping to drive economic activity and opportunity across the region.
Looking ahead
Roadway’s inclusion in the 2026 Top 100 represents another milestone in the company’s journey from a Selby-based traffic management business established in 2014 to an increasingly national operator.
Director Mark Bentley told us:
“With continued investment across people, premises, fleet, technology and training, we continue to remain focused on building a business capable of delivering long-term value for clients – while continuing to contribute to the communities in which we operate.
“As we’ve expanded nationally, we’ll always have North Yorkshire roots and so recognition among the region’s Top 100 businesses provides us with lots of pride and and gives us an opportunity to reflect on how far Roadway has come.”
