Roadworks put on hold by Northamptonshire Highways until 2021

Next stage of the programme requires good weather conditions so has been put back to spring 2021.
Northamptonshire Highways teams, who are defined by the government as key workers, have been carrying out extensive road repairs over the summer including surface dressing and using thermal road repair units as well as offering cost effective and long lasting repairs to roads in the county.
Resource and material issues caused delays for Northamptonshire Highways at the start of Covid-19 lockdown. The next stage of their programme would have been micro-asphalt.
As this method requires good weather, the decision has been taken to postpone treatment works until spring or early summer of 2021.
County council media relations assistant, Holly Skelton, said: “The sites scheduled for micro-asphalt will not be treated in late spring or early summer 2021, as the weather improves. This will ensure the treatment is of the highest standard and quality.
“We would like to apologise for the delayed works and thank you for the support and patience during this time.”
The councils and communities that were to receive this treatment have been informed.
