Section of A14 to close for roadworks this weekend
A major part of the A14 will be closed all weekend.
The westbound carriageway will be shut between junction 14 for Girton / the M11 turn off and junction 25 for Bar Hill.
The closure will be in place from 9 pm tonight (Friday, January 31) until 5 am on Monday (February 3).
It will be shut so works by the A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon Improvement Scheme can be carried out.
A diversion route will be in place via the A428 westbound carriageway then northbound on the A1198 to re-join the A14 at junction 23.
Highways said the diversions have been agreed with Cambridgeshire County Council and will be signposted.
Narrow lanes will remain in place for the duration of construction on the eastbound A428 between Madingley and Girton; in both directions on the A1 between Buckden and Alconbury and in both directions of the A14 between Dry Drayton and Swavesey.
