SHB Hire | New Site Makes Ideal Setting for SHB Hire Expansion

SHB has acquired a new site in Nairn, near Inverness in Scotland. The acquisition will see the vehicle hire and management firm take over a large site complete with LCV/HGV maintenance facilities as well as an MOT class 7 station.
SHB Hire Ltd is a family owned and operated company which has provided vehicle hire and management for 50 years. We have a diverse fleet of over 16,500 vehicles ranging from cars, standard and specialist LCVs and HGVs to golf buggies and ATVs. The award winning business operates out of 17 UK wide locations, providing adequate cover across the entire nation.
The Nairn site also boasts a large area of land for storage allowing SHB to utilise the extra space to be able to offer a range of different types of vehicles including HGVs and Specialist for existing and prospective customers in the region.
The new site will see the business continue its expansion plan which has added sites in Gloucester and Exeter within the past 2 years alongside the acquisition of Acklea, the leading supplier of Traffic Management goods. The premises in Nairn satisfies the company’s long term desire to offer businesses in the Northern region of Scotland a local, practical, flexible and efficient vehicle hire solution.

SHB already has an existing depot within Scotland, located in Airdrie which has recently expanded its operating times to 24 hours to keep up with customer demands. SHB will be hoping for similar success for its newly obtained Nairn site.
“As a business we have continually shown our desire to expand geographically with the Inverness region being highlighted as a crucial area that we wanted to expand our business in.
“We are hugely excited to now be able to offer local support of all types of vehicles to new and existing customers operating within the nearby area”. – Mike Street, Chairman – SHB.
The depot boasts 6 LCV/HGV workshop bays as well as having MOT facilities to support the local customers’ requirements. The site will be overseen by Depot Manager – Diane Evans, previously with TOM Vehicle Rental, who has an abundance of knowledge within the local area and she is delighted with the acquisition.
“This acquirement will allow SHB to contribute to the local economy through the existence of new jobs and future opportunities as the business continues to progress.
“It’s brilliant to bring SHB to the northern border of Scotland, further increasing our geographic coverage of the UK. I am excited to begin this journey and look forward to getting on with the task at hand.” – Diane Evans
