Shift Traffic Events | How tidy do these signs look?

These are the new QUICK-LOCK signs that Shift Traffic Events has recently trialled with Tennants UK.
QUICK-LOCK is a slotted post and weighted base plate which replaces steel frames and sandbags. It provides a guaranteed minimum ballast of 19kg and each assembled unit is 9kg lighter than a similar steel frame and two sandbags. This equates to up to a 270kg weight saving per van when loaded with a full scheme which will save on fuel consumption and on carbon emissions.
Shift Traffic Events is currently using these signs on a project with ITC in London where works to a railway bridge require fencing, barriers and signage to protect workers and keep pedestrians safe whilst they navigate around the site. The project will run for 30 weeks.
QUICK-LOCK is being used on these works because:
- They are durable. On a 30-week project, the site doesn’t have to be maintained as often as the signs are very sturdy.
- They have a smaller footprint. The smaller base means that less space is needed on the footpath, which means there is less risk to pedestrians and they are less obstructive to wheelchairs or prams/buggies.
- They are tidy. There is no risk of rotting or burst sandbags which can happen on a long-term project.
- They are environmentally-friendly. They are made from recycled material and as they are lighter, they require less fuel to transport which is better for the environment.
Speaking on behalf of Shift Traffic Events, Chris Morley said: “We believe these signs are a game-changer for the temporary traffic management industry and we’re delighted to be leading the industry with new ways of working. It’s great to see a durable product that’s not only pedestrian- and disability-friendly for use on urban TM but that also delivers environmental benefits.”
