Signal TM | Signal membership adds new colour to the TMCA
Signal TM are key partners within the UK civil engineering and construction industries, protecting the travelling public and facilitating the repair, maintenance and renewal of Britain’s roads, railway and utilities infrastructure.
Ensuring the safety of workers within and pedestrians moving around our temporary work zones is a core philosophy, compelling Signal to constantly innovate and evolve their design and working practices to better suit the needs of their clients and customers.
This attitude towards both safety and innovation has been a vital component of the company being given full membership of the TMCA.
The Traffic Management Contractors Association (TMCA) celebrates 31 years “in business” this year as it was established in 1989 (encouraged by the Department for Transport) as a trade association to represent the views of its members, and to further the development (and increase safety) with regard to temporary traffic management systems at major roadworks and all other traffic management sites on a national basis.
Members have participated in and or led most of the innovation and safety improvements in the TTM industry since then.
“With varying standards across the Industry, the TMCA’s role is more essential than ever in ensuring standards are upheld and shaping the future of Traffic Management. Providing a vital platform for leaders of industry to come together and share best practice, the TMCA is pivotal in ensuring both consistency of standards and the safety of road users on the network.” Luke Swatman, Business Development Manager
As a trusted TMCA Agency Provider working collaboratively as supply chain partners, Signal already conforms to some of the safest working practices set by TMCA members.
The company aim is to actively increase their offering to market, in-line with TMCA guidance, ensuring we increase capacity to the Strategic Roads Network in a managed, safe way.
Signal holds itself accountable to some of the highest working standards in the industry and with this approach already running through the business, the company feel the TMCA mirrors many of their own values and objectives.
Membership to the TMCA community aligned directly with the Signal vision for the future.
“We have always held ourselves to the highest standards in the delivery of Traffic Management and customer service, consistently going above and beyond for our clients. This achievement is a testament to the consistent hard work and efforts of our office and ground teams, who work tirelessly to deliver a gold standard customer experience” Sarah Eaton, Managing Director
ISO: Walking the walk
Having attained ISO14001 Environmental Management, Signal is committed to sustainability in working practices and believe there are further advancements the industry can make through collaborative working in tackling larger issues such as this.
The company believes the TMCA can play an instrumental role in leading change in this area, as they have already showcased with the progress in raising the bar on safety.
Signal is also fully accredited with ISO:45001 Health & Safety, which is recognition of the standards the company uphold; ensuring they actively manage compliance and mitigate risk, set high standards and comply to best working practices.
