Sprider UK | A nationwide first as new mini paver lands on UK shores

A new mini 500 paver from Vogele is set to hit the UK, and road repair specialist Sprider UK will be receiving the very first one.
The new Vögele mini road pavers are available as wheeled or tracked pavers with electric or diesel engine drive systems. A diesel paver will be Sprider’s first vehicle of it’s type, with an electric equivalent set to hit the UK in early 2024.
The new mini-pavers will expand Vögele’s product range and the battery-electric models will enable the Wirtgen Group to support the sustainability targets of its customers, as well as its ambitions to expand the availability of electrified product models by 2026. Cooperating with C. M. S.r.l will be a huge leap along the sustainability path.
Working closely together, both Wirtgen Group and Sprider UK saw that the two businesses had the ideal opportunity to utilise their expertise and specialist equipment to deliver a truly innovative way of working.
The Sprider will be able to feed the new paver on the move safely, without any waste and maximising production – providing all the benefits that the Sprider can offer.
The Sprider UK brings a range of quality elements to the road surfacing industry, including precision, efficiency, and an even higher quality finish.
It reduces waste, increases profitability, and decreases labour costs. The Sprider is faster and more efficient than traditional methods, but the Sprider is not just about speed and efficiency. It also brings an increase in quality, ensuring a right first-time approach, as well as improving health and safety standards by reducing the plant people interface.
The paver is ideal for pre-surface dressing patching. For the first time, clients will be able to have their works machine laid rather than elements being hand-laid thus eliminating manual handling, maximise outputs, improving quality and whole life costings etc.
This in addition to:
- Footpaths
- Cycle paths
- Surface course joint failures
- Utility reinstatements and general asphalt reinstatements
- Areas of coloured asphalt
- Trenches
Sprider UK told us:
“We’re very excited to bring a new machine into our range, one that compliments the Sprider perfectly and means we can provide a more complete solution to our clients, all from one phone call.
“As we continue to grow, we’re very proud to keep R&D, innovation and sustainability at the forefront of what we do, and we’re very much looking ahead to electric powered mini-pavers as part of our future provisions.”
