TLS Group – TLS Sponsors Charity Boxing Bout as Trainee Kai Wigley Fights in Memory of His Mother

TLS Group is lending its support to trainee Kai Wigley, who is preparing to take part in a charity boxing match this July in aid of Cancer Research UK.
The event, held under the banner of Ultra White Collar Boxing, will see Kai step into the ring not only to raise money for a vital cause, but to honour the memory of his late mother, who sadly passed away from cancer in July 2024.
For Kai, the bout is deeply personal. Having experienced the heartbreak of losing a parent to cancer, he is now using the challenge of the ring to channel that pain into something positive—raising awareness and funds to help others facing the same devastating diagnosis.

In a statement on his JustGiving page, Kai writes:

“I’ve picked Cancer Research as my chosen charity as last year I sadly lost my mum to cancer, so this charity is close to my heart. I am doing this fight for my mum and to help raise money for anyone else going through this awful disease. Thank you for all your support.”
Kai’s story and commitment to the cause resonated deeply with everyone at TLS. As a company that continues to build meaningful connections in the communities it serves, TLS recognises the powerful role that sport—and boxing in particular—can play in changing lives and creating opportunities for positive action.
Boxing clubs, in particular, hold a unique and important place within local communities. They offer a safe space for young people to develop discipline, resilience, and self-belief, while also promoting physical and mental well-being. As part of its social and community outreach work, TLS is a proud supporter of several local clubs, including:
- Franco’s Boxing Club in Gainsborough
- Almond Boxing Academy in Thorne
- Dec Spelman Boxing in Scunthorpe
- Riddings Amateur Boxing Club in Scunthorpe
These partnerships reflect TLS’s belief in the importance of grassroots sport as a tool for social good and personal development.
Managing Director Paul Chamley commented:
“Kai is showing tremendous courage in taking on this challenge. It’s an inspiring tribute to his mother and a cause that touches so many of us. At TLS, we’re proud to back Kai and proud to support the kind of grassroots efforts that make a real difference in people’s lives.”
The company is encouraging those who are able to support Kai’s efforts by donating to his JustGiving page. Every penny raised will go directly to Cancer Research UK, helping fund life-saving research and providing hope for individuals and families affected by cancer.
Kai’s journey to the ring is more than a sporting challenge—it is a powerful reminder of the strength found in community, in support, and in taking a stand for those we’ve lost and those still fighting.
