TLS | Janet receives her marathon number
Back in September, we brought you news of TLS employee Janet Stanfield as she began her journey to the London Marathon 2016.
Janet will take on one of the most famous races and courses in the world all for the benefit of JDRF – a charity which dedicates itself to the fight against Diabetes.
Diabetes is the fastest growing health threat of our times. Since 1996, the number of people living with diabetes in the UK has doubled. Diabetes now affects 1 in 16 people according to the 2015 report by diabetes.org.uk.
Well, with Janet’s London Marathon nearly upon us she has has now received her race number – look out for 40303- and is eagerly anticipating the event more than ever.
Traffic Labour Supplies will be supporting Janet with kit, equipment as well as going the extra mile to get Janet to the start line- and more importantly, the finish line!
Janet told us:
“I’m excited and nervous at the same time. I’ve done marathons before so will be looking to draw on those experiences to get me through when it gets hard. I’d just like to thank everyone here at TLS who have supported me, especially Steve and Jill (Bennett- company directors) who couldn’t have been more supportive.
“Here’s hoping they will be just as supportive when I’m back in the office after the race- I may need them to make the teas when I have sore legs!”
