TLS Group – TLS Strengthens Commitment to Mental Health as Official Supporter of Mates in Mind & Lighthouse Club

TLS Group has reinforced its commitment to improving mental health and wellbeing across the highways and construction sectors by becoming an official Supporter of Mates in Mind.

The partnership reflects TLS’s ongoing focus on creating a working environment where mental health is openly discussed, properly supported and prioritised alongside physical safety. In an industry where high-pressure environments, long hours and challenging conditions are common, the importance of mental wellbeing has never been greater.

As part of this commitment, TLS has also successfully completed the Mates in Mind assessment, a structured process designed to help organisations evaluate their approach to mental health, identify areas for improvement and embed best practice across the business.

Completing the assessment marks an important step in ensuring that TLS is not only raising awareness, but actively implementing meaningful support systems for its workforce.

Mates in Mind is a leading charity focused on improving mental health within construction and related industries. The organisation works to break down stigma, provide guidance and equip employers with the tools needed to support their people effectively. From frontline operatives to office-based teams, the initiative encourages open conversations and early intervention, helping to create safer, healthier workplaces.

For TLS, becoming a supporter aligns closely with its broader values.

The company has long placed a strong emphasis on the wellbeing of its workforce, recognising that its people are its most important asset. Whether operating on the road network or supporting projects behind the scenes, TLS understands that a supported workforce is a safer and more effective one.

As a most recent example of this value, TLS recently invested in football equipment and kit for its Manchester-based workforce, in order to support physical health, mental wellbeing and strengthen the camaraderie that makes teams stronger both on and off site.

The Mates in Mind move also complements TLS’s wider involvement in industry wellbeing initiatives, including its support for organisations such as the Lighthouse Club, further demonstrating a joined-up approach to supporting individuals across the sector.
