TMCA – Is Your Supplier Really a TMCA Member? Check the Logo

The Traffic Management Contractors Association (TMCA) has evolved, and with that evolution comes a responsibility for organisations to ensure that the way they present their membership is accurate, current, and reflective of the association they are part of today.
The TMCA has introduced a renewed membership structure designed to create a more inclusive, representative, and engaged association for the modern temporary traffic management sector.
As part of that change, the previous membership categories of Associate Member and Affiliated Company are no longer TMCA membership offerings.
This means that the old TMCA membership logos and associated terminology are now obsolete.
Any organisation currently describing itself as an Associate Member or Affiliated Company of the TMCA, or displaying one of the previous membership logos, is therefore presenting information that is either out of date, or simply no longer accurate.
An Updated Membership Model
The TMCA’s membership model has been redesigned to better reflect the diversity of organisations operating across and alongside the temporary traffic management sector.
The new approach is intended to bring more organisations into the association that have a genuine interest in contributing to a safer, stronger, and better industry.
It provides a clearer and more inclusive route for organisations to become part of that work, with membership categories reflecting what organisations do and how they contribute to the sector.
Alongside the revised structure, the TMCA has also introduced a new approach to recognising member engagement.
Walking the Talk
The TMCA believes strongly that organisations should be able to demonstrate that their commitment to the industry goes beyond words.
Many businesses rightly promote their commitment to quality, safety, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. These are important values – but they are most meaningful when backed up by action.
For the TMCA, membership represents an opportunity to put those principles into practice.
For Members: Check Your Membership Status
With the new membership model now in place, organisations that claim to be TMCA members should take the opportunity to check that their membership information is current and accurate.
This includes reviewing:
- The membership terminology used on company websites and marketing materials
- References to TMCA membership across social media profiles
- Membership logos displayed on websites, documents, vehicles, and other materials
- Any reference to the former Associate Member or Affiliated Company categories
- Whether the organisation is using the current TMCA membership branding
The TMCA has introduced new membership logos to reflect the current structure.
Organisations that are members should ensure they are using the correct and up-to-date branding when representing their relationship with the association.
Outdated Logos Could Raise a Red Flag
For those procuring services or looking to work with a TMCA member, an outdated membership logo should also prompt a closer look.
In some cases, it may simply mean that an organisation has not yet updated its website or marketing materials to reflect the TMCA’s current membership structure.
However, where a company continues to use an old logo or claim a form of TMCA membership that is no longer available, it is reasonable to question whether that membership is still valid.
The TMCA’s website provides a straightforward way to check whether an organisation is currently listed as a member.
If you are in any doubt about an organisation’s membership status, or whether the branding they are using accurately reflects their relationship with the TMCA, the association can be contacted directly to confirm. It is important that businesses and customers alike can have confidence that claims of TMCA membership are genuine, current, and accurately represented.
