This weekend TMSS Managing Director Tom Wilson will be taking part in a gruelling Mountain Bike Challenge to help raise money for Overgate Hospice. The 26 mile Overgate Mountain Bike ride is known for its challenging route and unforgiving terrain.
Tom said “I’m a bit nervous now I’ve seen the route but I’m sure the camaraderie and support on the day will get me through. Thank you to everyone who has sponsored me so far – I hope I can do you proud and complete the ride without falling off (too many times!).
“Overgate provides much-needed care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses in the Calderdale area. They need to raise nearly £7,000 per day to protect the vital services they offer the local community and deserve as much support, awareness raising and fundraising as we can offer them so please visit my fundraising page ( https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Tom-Wilson-MBC) and donate as much as you can.”
Organiser Fern Petrovic said about the ride “Every year we look for those brave enough to take on the bike ride along some of Calderdale’s best tracks and bridle ways. The event takes place on Sunday 19th June and you can register online at mbc.overgatehospice.org.uk. Pre entry is £15 or £20 on the day. Refreshments will be provided at strategic points around the course and at the Headquarters at Elland Recreation Ground. So why not join Tom, dust off your saddle and join us?”
