Traffex 2015 | Keysoft Solutions demonstrating BIM compliance

Traffic management software developer Keysoft Solutions, will be sharing Google Cardboard Virtual Reality units on Stand No. C34, at Traffex 2015 to help designers and engineers embrace the next phase of Building Information Modelling (BIM) compliance ahead of the January 2016 deadline.
Keysoft Solutions develops specialist software for highways engineers and landscape architects to help them optimise productivity, efficiency, safety and compliance in road and landscaping design. Keysoft Traffic is its intuitive software for traffic, road safety, street lighting and highways maintenance engineering, while Keysoft Landscape allows landscaping professionals to rapidly produce impressive 2D and 3D designs.
The Government has mandated that BIM Level two must be used on all centrally-funded construction projects by 2016. This means that local authorities and private businesses working in the highways sector need to be able to collaborate with central government departments and ensure their technology and processes are BIM compliant.
Even though the deadline is fast approaching, there is still a great deal of confusion and misunderstanding around BIM. However, Keysoft Solutions argues that many traffic planners and engineers are already working at BIM Level one and that a few changes in working practices could get them to Level two compliance without significant expenditure.
Mike Shilton, product director at Keysoft Solutions, explains: “Our software enables our customers to prepare Level two data, so it is just a matter of ensuring they have the right collaboration and information sharing processes in place. Traffex offers the perfect opportunity to demonstrate this on-stand using Google Cardboard, and we plan to have some units to give away as part of our easy-to-enter competition.”
Traffex and Parkex returns to Hall 5 at the NEC Birmingham on the 21-23 April, 2015, and is set to be the most important event for the international traffic management, road safety, parking, road maintenance and transport infrastructure industries.
