Traffex SIB 2018 | Highways Innovation is gaining momentum

Innovation and technology is moving fast in the highways sector. That cannot be denied.

A once notoriously ‘old school’ industry of manual labour and haphazard health and safety practices is now experiencing an innovative revolution. Health and safety is ever improving and better than ever, ‘smart’ technology adds to the efficiency of the network every day, and long-standing industry stalwarts are forever investing in improvements that benefit suppliers, contractors and the British public alike.

On 27^th and 28^th of June Traffex Seeing is believing took place at Bruntingthorpe. Thousands of people attended across the 2-day showcase to see the latest products and services in the highways sector.

Combining an indoor conference and exhibition space with outdoor displays and demonstrations in real working environments, this year’s event provided current and aspiring highways and transportation practitioners with the perfect environment in which to keep up to speed with the very latest innovations from the industry.

In conjunction with an integrated conference and CPD certified seminar sessions covering everything from intelligent transport systems to innovation in the road markings sector, the show provided organisations with a unique platform from which to demonstrate multiple products and services without the restrictions necessitated by an indoor-only event.

There is something special about the event, the offering of live demonstrations and tests allows main contractors, local authorities and heads of highways to see real time displays of the innovation coming into the industry in a way no other event currently does.

The event is national news, with even ITV coverage giving a flavour of the scale of the event and what Traffex Seeing is Believing offers not only the highways industry, but each and every road user across the UK network.

A record 2000 people registered for the event and the two-day exhibition with its unique inside-outside set-up proved to be an innovative way itself to demonstrate innovations in the industry.
