Course: Emergency First Aid at Work (Regulated First Aid Qualification) – Birmingham
Duration: 1 day
Group Size: Maximum of 10 delegates
Who should attend: Nominated emergency first aiders, candidates who require an emergency first aid at work (EFAW) certificate to comply with Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 requirements or anyone wanting comprehensive one day first aid training. Pre-requisites: Candidates must be physically able to carry out the procedures detailed in the course aims.
Course aims: The course aims to provide provide basic life-saving first aid and fulfill workplace health & safety regulations.
Upon completion the candidates will have an understanding of:
- First Aid Priorities
- Managing incidents
- Basic Life support
- Examination of a casualty
- Control of Bleeding
- Burns & Scalds
- First Aid KIts
- Recording & Reporting
Certification: Certification is dependant on successful completion of the end of course exam. Those candidates who complete the course are deemed to have reached the required standard and are issued with a certificate that is valid for 3 years, after which re-qualification becomes necessary.
NB: Under the current guidelines it is “strongly recommended” that first aid trained staff attend a 1/2 day update every 12 months – before completing full re-qualification training at the 3 year point.
