VIDEO | Cyclist ignores red light- but can't ignore bus
This shocking footage shows the moment that a Manchester cyclist rode through a red traffic light – and straight into the side of the bus.
The video shows the cyclist riding up to the traffic lights in the city centre and gliding through a red light before colliding head-on with the side of a double-decker bus and coming off his bike.
The footage then shows the bus continuing on its journey as the driver seems oblivious to the accident.
The film has so far clocked up more than 64,000 views on Youtube.
The incident was filmed by a motorcyclist who was riding along Portland Street when he managed to capture the accident at the junction of Oxford Street on the afternoon of Monday, May 18.
The motorcyclist, known as Captf, published the footage on his Youtube channel as a warning to other road users. He believes that the cyclist escaped the incident unharmed.
He wrote: “Very short one. On the way home tonight, witnessed a red light jumping cyclist meet the side of a bus. I have zero sympathies for the guy. But, he was OK in the end. If he had been ~1 second sooner, he’d be a smear along the road.”
