The run up to Christmas is predicted to be fairer weather to the delight of Sufflolk gritting team; they are however armed with 25000 tonnes of grit and ready for anything this season.
Kier MG have won the contract to manage Suffolks highways and will be challenged with their first runs with the council.
Though cabinet member for transport Graham Newman believes they are ready after passing the first test with flying colours. He said: When we had the storm there were 750 calls and 500 incidents. Most of the roads were cleared by the end of the Monday with the last being cleared by the Tuesday that was better than many other services

This year 100 drivers will use 56 vehicles to keep roads clear of ice and snow; this year however there will be just 33 runs cleared down from 41.Written by Philip Adams
