Who are Hitex International Group?

We are an established company of over 40 years with four main divisions:

1. Hitex Traffic Safety; manufacture supply and export of road marking road surfacing and TexBand Road Repair materials
2. L&R Roadlines; Contracting services for road markings high friction surfacing road stud installation and road marking remova•l
3. Somerford Equipment; design and manufacture of road lining and associated vehicles and equipment vehicle and equipment servicing and trainin•g
4. Textureprint ; specialist installer of Hitex range of decorative materials

When was Hitex International founded?

The foundations of Hitex International Group were laid in 1972 with the formation of L&R Roadlines Ltd in Liverpool UK.

L&R Roadlines was established to service the UK road lining market which had been expanding since the 1960’s. They steadily built a reputation for professionalism integrity and the ability to successfully deliver a range of complex projects for both the public and private sector.

L&R began collaborative working with major contractors and local government authorities from the late 1970’s and have since become an integral part of key supply chains. Today they are one of the largest and most trusted contracting companies within the UK sector.

Textureprint Ltd was formed as in 2002 to add a new dimension to L&R’s offering. Textureprint are specialists in the installation of Hitex-brand decorative surfacing solutions and deliver a wide range of maintenance-free coloured textured and natural stone design choices.

Hitex Traffic Safety was founded in 2008 to manufacture quality road lining road surfacing decorative surfacing and road repair materials. In addition to a modern efficient manufacturing plant Hitex invested in extensive research and development facilities ensuring their place at the forefront of the road marking and surfacing manufacturing industry for premium quality innovative products.

In 2010 Hitex International Group acquired Somerford Equipment manufacturers of road marking application vehicles and equipment. Already a name synonymous with quality and durability Somerford was a perfect fit for the group and allowed us to offer a complete package to our clients; from full bespoke vehicle builds to the smallest components.

In 2013 all contracting services were co-located with our material manufacturing division in extensive purpose built facilities in Ellesmere Port Cheshire. The new location provided the space and facilities needed to continue future growth.

Over four decades Hitex International Group have grown from a single vehicle operation to one of the largest contractors in the UK and export premium quality materials and equipment to customers all over the world. The company remains privately-owned allowing us the flexibility and freedom to adapt to the needs of both our customers and the changing road infrastructure.

The vision for continuous improvement

Improving the safety of our road networks has been the core value of Hitex International Group for over four decades.

Developing our younger generation

Hitex International Group invests in the development of young people through apprenticeship schemes within our contracting manufacturing and administration divisions. We believe these valuable programmes provide excellent opportunities to build skills and expertise whilst gaining worthwhile work experience accreditations and qualifications. Apprentices provide us with a workforce that truly understand our industry and gives us the continued skill-base we need to safeguard us for the future.

Hitex International Group recently celebrated the success of one of our current Road marking operative apprentices who was awarded ‘Apprentice of the Year 2014’ at the recent Road Surface Marking Association Industry conference awards.
