Winners of Highways UK’s innovation competitions revealed
Highways UK are proud to support and promote innovation in the highways sector through our two annual innovation competitions, which culminated at Highways UK in early November.
This year they received a record number of entries – over 120, across 11 categories.
Congratulations to Thermoelectric Conversion Systems, overall winner, and EAVE, runner-up of the Costain-sponsored Intelligent Infrastructure Challenge; and GCP Applied Technologies, overall winner, and Chiara Resources, runner-up of the AECOM-sponsored Civils and Materials Innovation Hub, supported by the Mineral Products Association. They will be invited to half-day mentoring seminars hosted by Highways England in 2020.
Congratulations too to the other seven category winners map16 Asset Management, Northern Gas Networks, TravelAi, British Geological Survey (in partnership with Socotec), BOMAG (GB), Power Plane, and Saint-Goblin PAM.
You’ll find further details on the 2019 winners including contact details in the innovation section of their website.
Thanks to all individuals and organisations who entered the competitions, participated in the finals and attended their speed-networking event; and special thanks to the more than 40 expert judges who took on the daunting but rewarding task of selecting the category winners and the two overall winners; and finally thanks to their sponsors and supporters.
Both competitions will be running in 2020, with the entry process opening after Easter and the finals being held at Highways-UK at the NEC on 4th and 5th November.
