Consilium Technical Services | The team completes Hike for Homeless for St Basils

The team at Consilium Technical Services took part in the recent Hike for Homeless challenge in aid of St Basils, a charity based in Birmingham.
St Basils is dedicated to working with young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. They provide vulnerable individuals with the necessary support to find and maintain a home, develop essential skills, and create opportunities that prevent homelessness.
The Consilium team tackled this challenge alongside their collaborative partners, HTM and Up to Speed Training, as part of
the XII Alliance team.
The XII Alliance team, comprising a total of 10 enthusiastic members, embarked on one of two challenging walks for the event.
The first group of three walkers battled through a demanding 5-mile course. Alongside them, the second group of seven team members embarked on a more arduous 14-mile journey, pushing themselves to the limit.
An Unexpected Twist
While the team were prepared for the challenging terrain and demanding distances, a surprise was in store. A wrong turn was taken somewhere along the way.
As a result, the team inadvertently added an additional 5km to their overall trek. However instead of feeling disheartened, the team positively embraced this unexpected twist and saw it as an opportunity to go above and beyond for the cause.
Through their collective efforts, the team’s involved successfully completed the challenge and all funds raised will go directly to St Basil’s charity, enabling them to continue their invaluable work.
Andrew Gardner General Manager, told us:
“Participating in this event not only raised much-needed funds for St Basils but also sheds light on the importance of supporting vulnerable young people.
“We’re incredibly proud to take part and complete the challenge. From a company perspective and a collaborative one, it was fantastic to pull on the walking shoes and do something as a collective effort.
“Finally, a massive thank you to all that have donated to our cause to help St Basils – we appreciate every last penny of your generosity.”
